Wilderness Adventures and Ecotours at Nechako Lodge

At Nechako Lodge we believe in and practice ecotourism.

We are located in the middle of the incredible backcountry wilderness of Central British Columbia. Our trails all lead to beauty and adventure. We have rapids, lakes, waterfalls, and scenery that must be seen to be believed. Bird watchers are in their glory, as is anyone wishing to catch sight of wildlife and let's not forget the fish. Looking for something different? Our abundant local plant life will catch your attention - from edible mushrooms, a multitude of wild flowers, to fresh juicy berries.

Nechako Lodge is the eastern gateway to Tweedsmuir Provincial Park. Established in the 1930's, it is the largest provincial park in the province of British Columbia, covering an area of more than 980,000 hectares. Wildlife is fairly prevalent and ranges from caribou, mountain goat, moose, deer, grizzly and black bear, wolf, and coyote to smaller mammals such as weasel, marten, wolverine, marmot, and squirrels. The park is also home to a great variety of waterfowl, songbirds, and birds of prey. Most of the lakes and rivers have populations of mountain whitefish, rainbow trout, kokanee, and burbot. You will find geography that ranges from the slopes of the Rainbow and Coast Mountains to the rolling hills of the Interior Plateau. This park is an eco-tourist's delight.

We have the expertise to show you where to go and what you can expect. You tell us your needs and we help you plan the trip. Visitors from around the world have been captivated by what they saw and experienced. Be it canoeing, fishing, birding, hiking, flightseeing, over night camping, or just sitting around the lodge relaxing and enjoying a gourmet meal, we have it all for you.
